What We Loved about Acquia Engage

Acquia’s inaugural customer conference, Engage, was an incredible success, bringing together marketers and tech enthusiasts from around the country for two-full days of learning, sharing, and professing their love for Drupal. The key themes of the conference were Content, Community and Commerce, with a focus on exploring the implications of an evolving marketing technology landscape and consumers’ increasing demand for personalized, consistent cross-channel experiences. The agenda featured speakers from Forrester Research, as well as innovative brands like Whole Foods Market, Pfizer, and Warner Music Group. I was also excited to have the opportunity to introduce attendees to the “Marketing Continuity” framework during the conference’s Lightning Talks session.

Acquia used the opportunity to make their biggest announcement: the introduction of the Acquia Lift ContextDB. ContextDB:

  • Unifies visitor information across all sites and marketing channels
  • Drives cross-channel personalization
  • Allows marketers to derive insights about their visitors by exporting data into BI tools
  • Connects the anonymous visitor to an identified user

This last bullet excited Janrain the most—ContextDB enables our joint customers to use the Janrain digital customer identity and data collected at registration to help drive on-site personalization efforts by linking anonymous visitor data to a known, registered customer. Additionally, Acquia’s Target and Recommend service can also leverage the Janrain customer identity to deliver more precise customer segments in support of more relevant, 1:1 experiences.

Outside of the conference sessions, Engage attendees met with the Janrain team face-to-face at The Beehive for cocktails, conversation, and networking. Some were old friends, some were new, but we all enjoyed discussing our ever-changing industry (and our mutual interest in seeing George Clinton perform live).
