Consumer Perceptions of Online Registration and Social Sign-InIn December 2010 Blue Research surveyed over 600 US consumers to examine attitudes about site registration processes, perceptions about signing up with a social identity, and impact on brands and retailers. The findings show clear consumer frustration with traditional registration processes, and favorable perceptions around social sign-in as an attractive alternative. Behaviorally, these “fans” of social sign-in are more valuable to companies: they are more likely to return to sites offering social sign-in, they spend larger dollar amounts on the site and have more favorable views about the brand. |
