Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira has just become the first person ever to reach 100 million likes on Facebook.
Shakira reached the historic milestone just in time for her performance at the World Cup closing ceremony.
Facebook honored the record-setting achievement with infographics of the top insights from Shakira’s Facebook brand page in collaboration with Arktan.
Arktan SocialTrends was used to mine and analyze historical data from Shakira’s brand page since its inception in 2008. The analysis covered fan posts, comments, likes, shares, and location and demographic data shared by fans.
The resulting infographics gave fans insights into the global fan base and its demographics, along with top international cities proud to be having the most Shakira fans.
Among the most-liked and shared posts were Shakira’s announcement of her pregnancy and the photo of her newborn son. The photo of Shakira getting ready to perform at the World Club closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro was posted just before she reached her 100 million likes.
