Janrain joined 1000+ senior-level marketing professionals from the life sciences industries at Digital Pharma East 2018 earlier this month. The conference included speaking sessions, case studies and panels surrounding digital trends for pharma, biotech and medical device companies.

Here are some conference highlights and standout topics:

  1. Patients are consumers. Companies in life sciences industries must meet patients’ expectations for the seamless omnichannel customer experiences they’ve become accustomed to. Capgemini, a global professional services and consulting firm, shared case studies from consumer packaged goods and retail brands to educate attendees about today’s trends and technologies.

  2. Even 150+ year old companies can evolve. Bayer, a multinational pharma and life sciences company founded in 1863, shared its digital transformation journey, which was critical to its success in changing technology and business environments.

  3. Engage patients, compliantly. Several sessions covered the importance of stimulating patient engagement across channels through customer experience and analytics. Always present, too, was the topic of data privacy, specifically related to the impending California Consumer Privacy Act.the digital pharma challenge

A recurring theme throughout the conference was the need for pharma and other life sciences companies to create seamless patient experiences across channels. Janrain was excited to share case studies from leading pharma clients that used customer identity and access management to improve patient care by giving HCPs regulated and expedited access to records, resources, drug samples and more.
