Introducing Native Social Login Flows with Facebook on Mobile Devices

We recently rolled out a new feature for Janrain customers enabling social login within your native mobile applications.

These days, many iPhone and Android device users are storing their Facebook account credentials within their mobile device settings, as a way of making it easier to share content from the device to Facebook.

Now, when a consumer signs in to your mobile application with their Facebook identity via social login, Janrain can detect the account settings stored on that consumer’s mobile device, and use it to prompt consumers to sign in to your mobile app and share some of their profile data with you.

Native login flows remove the need for consumers to input their credentials via an embedded web permission screen when using social login with Facebook, accelerating the login process for consumers and increasing registration conversion rates within mobile apps for brands. It’s a more seamless login experience for consumers using your mobile apps, and we’re pretty excited to make it available to our customers.

Facebook is asking mobile app developers using social login to leverage native login flows instead of embedding web permission screens into their native mobile app. The latest and greatest version of Janrain’s mobile SDKs for iOS and Android fully support native login flows for Facebook social login.
