Janrain Engage Enables Brands to Expand Reach in Brazil, India and Germany with Orkut and VZ-Netzwerke

Each quarter we analyze social login and social sharing preferences across the 350,000 websites worldwide that use Janrain Engage.The results are pretty consistent and clear from one quarter to the next – users prefer choice. Uniform preference among social network providers simply does not exist. Users chose a social network for login based on multiple factors: vertical (media, entertainment, retail, etc), the platform (web vs. mobile), geography and user demographics.

At Janrain, we enable publishers and brands to tap into their target audience segments by offering a wide variety of social login options for their websites and mobile applications. Today, we are happy to announce social login support for two prominent networks via Janrain Engage – Orkut and VZ-Netzwerke (VZ-Login).


Orkut, the leading social network in India and Brazil, enjoys over 20 million monthly visitors from Brazil alone. The VZ-Netzwerke of sites (schulerVZ, studiVZ and meinVZ) make up the largest social network in Germany with approximately 14 million active monthly users, most of whom are between 14-39 years old.

Orkut and VZ-Login provide rich profile information on users logging into websites or through mobile applications. Using these social IDs expedite registration and enable opt-in targeting by enabling users to share a user name, email address, profile photo, address information and much more with your brand. Adding support for Orkut and VZ-Login to your Janrain Engage application is a simple process. If you are an existing Janrain customer, please log into your application dashboard, click “Provider Configuration” under “Quick Links” and follow our step-by-step set up guide to configure Orkut or VZ-Login. Once configured, the networks can be added to your social login widget, mobile application or custom UI with a few mouse-clicks and keystrokes.
