Last week was an exciting time here at JanRain. We launched our new RPX product, the industry’s first hosted OpenID solution allowing websites to quickly and easily accept OpenID users.
Over the past few months we heard from organizations, both large and small, that they wanted to OpenID-enable their websites. However, they were looking for an approach that would minimize the effort required to learn about OpenID, install and configure Open Source libraries, customize and integrate with an existing infrastructure, and maintain the latest features and capabilities of OpenID and other related technologies like OAuth, Portable Contacts, etc.
RPX is a hosted software as a service (SaaS) platform that includes a robust set of web services APIs that make it easy and convenient to integrate into an existing website registration and login infrastructure. It does not require any modifications to a website’s existing database or schema and can be up and running in less than a day.
Another recent milestone was the launch of our redesigned website. If you haven’t been over to janrain.com recently, please take a look and let us know what you think.
JanRain looks forward to continuing to provide the best OpenID technology and services in the market. We welcome your input and suggestions.
