Last fall the Altimeter Group sponsored a conference aptly named “The Rise of Social Commerce”. Early indicators have pointed to 2011 as being the year online retailers embrace social to deepen consumer engagement and increase revenue. Social commerce tools come in many flavors, including leveraging social to expedite checkout.
X-Cart, the e-commerce shopping cart software that powers over 14,000 online checkouts in over 111 countries has developed an X-Cart Integration Module for Janrain Engage to make it easy for online stores to implement social login and social sharing on their sites. A site user can bypass the traditional registration process and sign-in with one click with their Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn or other accounts. This results in an accelerated sign-up process for new users and a simple login experience for returning visitors. In addition, by implementing the Janrain Engage social sharing feature, an X-Cart enabled site can trigger sharing based on any number of user’s actions, including purchases, posting comments, writing a product review, user-generated content or clicking a share button, enabling the word of mouth marketing for their business and transforming their users into brand advocates.
To see the integration in greater detail:
For new online merchants X-Cart is an engine to build and run their online shop. For existing online stores, X-Cart is a way to increase online sales and organize processes better. X-Cart comes with tons of features available right out of the box. The platform is highly scalable and fast. Learn more about X-Cart.
Available for all levels of Janrain Engage, an integration module from X-Cart is required.
