With more than 800 million Chinese users, many of them millennials, it is the fifth largest social network in the world.
More than a messaging app, WeChat serves as a hub for all kinds of internet activity, including free video calls, instant group chats, scheduling rides, buying movie tickets and making peer-to-peer payments. By offering WeChat as a Social Login option, brands worldwide can access a very large and difficult to reach demographic while giving password-weary consumers an easier way to register and login to their sites and apps.

Developed by Chinese investment holding company Tencent, WeChat joins dozens of other Janrain identity providers, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Salesforce. Users who authenticate with WeChat can easily log in from any device and in turn, grant brands access to their profile data, which includes display name, address, gender, language and profile photo.
