PORTLAND, OR (March 21, 2016) – Janrain, the global leader in Customer Identity Management solutions, today announced that Darryl Nicholson has joined the company as vice president of engineering and Mayur Upadhyaya was promoted to vice president of customer experience.
Nicholson is a seasoned technologist with more than two decades of experience. Prior to Janrain, Nicholson was vice president of IT at Vesta Corporation, a global leader in the field of card-not-present (CNP) transactions, and managed a $5.5 billion PCI payments operation. He ran Vesta’s Global Production Operations environment, Information Security and Corporate IT Services and was part of the executive team responsible for increasing revenue 10X. Nicholson, based in Portland, OR, will oversee Janrain Development and Operations and report directly to CEO Larry Drebes.

Upadhyaya joined Janrain in 2013 and since then has held several high-profile roles within the company. As vice president of customer experience, Upadhyaya, based in London and Portland, OR, will focus on increasing customer loyalty and expanding Janrain partnerships with agencies. He will continue to have responsibility for client strategy and account renewals, and reports to Drebes. Upadhyaya was previously general manager at Glow Labs and chief architect at Magic Lantern Productions. Over his 13 year agency tenure, Upadhyaya advised clients such as Channel 4, BBC, Guardian, United Nations and Nigella Lawson.

Janrain also added Liz Martin to its marketing team. Martin was named as the company’s new director of marketing communications to oversee all global marketing communications programs and public relations efforts. Martin spent more than 10 years working agency-side with notable clients including Microsoft, and she most recently served as senior director of marketing and communications at Webtrends, a digital measurement and optimization company.
