Built on top of Janrain’s User Management Platform, JUMP, which enables online businesses to manage all aspects of user engagement and measurement, Capture ensures user profile data is actionable by making it available to websites when and how they need it. Capture has already been deployed by the National Geographic Channel, Yellow Pages Group, and Eastman Kodak.
Websites provide multiple ways for users to engage with their brand through comments, ratings and reviews, online communities, feedback forums, online promotions, contests, social publishing and live chat. However, each one of these applications requires an awareness of the user’s identity and their social graph to ensure the interaction is meaningful. Janrain Capture makes previously stored user data actionable by allowing a website to selectively share relevant details about the user across multiple applications, web properties and partner sites to build personalized and engaging online experiences.
The National Geographic Channel (NGC) selected Janrain Capture to provide a single, flexible hosted user profile system. Janrain Capture stores and provisions the user’s account information and distributes user profile and authentication requirements on an as needed basis to the National Geographic’s Pluck social community platform and an email system. The National Geographic Channel is also using the Janrain Engage solution to enable its users to sign in with an existing account on Facebook, Twitter, Google or additional providers.

YellowPages.caTM chose Janrain Capture to add user registration and a profile system in the cloud. Janrain Capture hosts the registration screens and the profile pages, as well as handles the email verification process. YellowPages.ca also uses Janrain Engage and Janrain Federate to offer 3rd party logins and federated single sign on across partner sites.
