Portland, OR and Los Angeles, CA – July 29, 2010 – Janrain, Inc., provider of the leading user management platform for the social web, and Triton Digital Media, provider of digital applications, services and content to the broadcast industry, today announced that Triton Digital will be integrating Janrain’s Engage service into their technology platform as well as becoming an authorized reseller of Janrain’s Engage. Triton Digital currently supports more than 6,000 radio station affiliates across the country. As social media is becoming increasingly important to the radio sector, Triton Digital plans to integrate Janrain Engage’s authentication and social publishing capabilities into the Loyalty Program of its technology platform that also includes a CMS, ad serving, and e-commerce components.
“Our ability to quickly authenticate users and allow them to share activities and content from a client website back to their social graph has made Janrain Engage a natural fit for all types of media companies,” said Brian Kissel, CEO of Janrain. “Radio stations are no exception. People want to be able to share comments or events from a station’s website with their friends and our partnership with Triton Digital means we’re now enabling that for millions of listeners nationwide.”
With Janrain’s Engage, Triton Digital’s radio affiliates will be able to connect their website to the social networks and makes it easy for users to login with an existing identity profile from social networks or identity providers including Facebook, Twitter, Google and Yahoo, to speed up online registration. Users can then interact with friends and publish activity data back to their social networks.
“Social media is the tie that binds. Today’s radio needs a tool that very elegantly enables dialog between stations and listeners. Janrain’s Engage does that as well as fostering conversation amongst listeners with the station as the catalyst. We feel it’s a home run,” said Triton COO Mike Agovino. “This partnership extends our existing technology platform and will help us to enhance our offering for thousands of radio stations across the country, allowing them to get in the middle of the conversation, increasing their conversion rates while also getting more valuable user data into their systems. This is a crucial first step with others to follow.”
